Introduction

A 15 year-old male presented to CFNC complaining of headaches, exhaustion, digestive issues, feeling like his brain was swelling, like he was going to pass out, and like he has the flu 24/7. His symptoms began after going to vestibular rehab for treatment of at least four concussions.

Examination

Upon examination, we found a significant increase in his heart rate from 89-148bpm when changing positions from laying to standing, irregular pupillary light responses in both eyes, instability when looking at a stationary target, and a retained startle reflex.

Treatment

The patient was seen for an intensive week, followed by two intensive days, and then multiple telehealth follow ups. Treatment consisted of vestibular rehabilitation, autonomic nervous system retraining, oculomotor therapy, peripheral nerve stimulation, Bemer therapy, red and near infrared light, blood sugar regulation, supplementation, .

Results

At his last follow up, the patient reported he was completely symptom free. He is able to workout and lift five days per week, got his GED, and got a job working 25-30hr per week.
