Introduction
A 9 year-old presented to CFNC complaining of a speech delay, sensory issues, and lack of understanding where his body is in space. He has a previous diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Examination
Upon examination, we found retained primitive reflexes, irregular eye movements with targets moving to the left, difficulty with coordination on the right, and diminished oxygen saturation on the left side.
Treatment
The patient was seen for a week consisting of 12 neurological rehabilitation sessions and a re-examination. Treatment consisted of cerebellar exercises, neurosensorimotor integration, peripheral nerve stimulation, primitive reflex remediation, red and near infrared light, whole body rotation, oculomotor movements, vestibular rehabilitation, and interactive metronome.
Results
After the intensive week, the patient’s mom said that he is more vocal, able to add in more Spanish words, asking for items he wants and able to express what he doesn’t want.
